I’m a Cold Case

October 19, 2009

So I was talking to a friend from the Midwest today about the weather.  She said it was warmer than it is here in the east.  We get thier sloppy seconds a day or two later.  It wil be warmer here soon.

Then I explained how I will be in Puerto Rico tomorrow. She  replies ” Well at least you’ll be warm”.

Here’s how it goes…..

I will get up early tomorrow morning, head out into the cold to the airport. Get on the cold plane, till it warms up.  Fly to Puerto Rico,  get off the plane into the cold air conditioned airport, ride the rental car shuttle bus (cold) to the car (which is running, with the A/C on high, ready for me). Drive to the hotel, which is A/C cold.

I will go to the site where I need to work.  Its air conditioned there.  VERY cold.  I wear long sleves.  I really don’t get any time to enjoy the warm weather…

This is what I see out my window……pure punishment!!!!!

In a nutshell, I go to Puerto Rico to freeze.  There’s just NO happy medium….

Well…. I DO get a friendly hello and greeting kiss from Jessica, the barmaid (not shown here) at the hotel bar.  That’s the warmth I’ll get.  Which….. ain’t all that bad.

Congratulations to our friend “The Girl“.  She became a grandmother this weekend!  The poor little guys got pneumonia, so say a prayer for him, please!

Thanks for reading!

I’ll see you soon!

  1. That does look like torture. It doesn’t seem fair, but I guess they’re not paying you to lounge by the pool with a daiquiri, are they?

Stay warm. Try to bust out into the tropical climate at least once.

Congrats to The Girl. I will say a prayer for baby.

  2. jeaaaloussssss, says me who drove an hour to the airport last night in the SNOW to get my guy who flew in from FLORIDA.

  3. When you fly by drop some of that cold on us. Its been hotter than hell in SW Florida. My winter coats growing in and its swelter city here.

  4. That DOES look like pure hell! If you have a balcony, step outside and just absorb the sun will you! LOL Seriously, I do hope you do find some time to enjoy the pool, the sun, the drink of your choice and the lounger. But, really, bring a sweater.

Congratulations to The Girl. I’m praying for a speedy recovery for the baby.

    Have a safe trip!

  5. You can think warm thoughts though!

  6. Awwww thanks. The baby is doing great and will be coming home with his Mom on Friday !

  7. Aren’t you lucky!?!?!?!?! That view is beautiful!!!! I’d suffer through a little cold to have a view like that!!!!!! 🙂

  8. Ah, the glamorous life of the business traveler! Not really all that glamorous most days, is it?
