Free $paying

May 4, 2009

With the birth of my 4th grandchild, my son asked me if my dog could have a sleep over party for a few nights. She would invite her nieces. A boxer and a 1 year old Pitbull.  My dog agrees and they came over. Thus allowing the new parents to go through the baby shower stuff, arrange things and get used to having a baby in the house.  It’s been 2 weeks now. The PitBull is a very active loveable dog, but she’s a bit wild. She tends to leap over people on the sofa.  Shaking gram up a lot. “The dog needs to be spayed”  That will slow her down a bit.

We researched spaying – found Friends of Animals had a coupon for $90.00 which you could take to a participating Animal hospital and get it done. Great!  We got the coupon. This morning the dog and i went to the place near my office and walked in. After filling out forms which were written very poorly, the dog pulling on the leash while I was writing, they took the dog “in back” and I was in an office with the Vet.

Superman: Amateur Veterinarian of Steel

Has she had her shots? – Yes

Do you remember when – No this is my son’s dog.

Do you know where – Yes, Bradenton , Florida

We isolate which vet down in Florida and he calls, scribbling stuff on his pad.

OK, Well she HAS had her shots but they are all overdue. So we need Thi$ $hot, and thi$ $hot, a te$t for Thi$, and a te$t for that.  Since you opted for the la$er surgery, and pain med$ that i$ an additional $$$.

So my $90.00 coupon turned into $340.00.

Well…we don’t want a wild dog running around the baby, right?

I’m gonna give the bill to my Schnauzer as it was her sleep over.

Thanks  for reading – See you soon!

  1. Doesn’t that figure? A deal like that is always too good to be true. So how do you think your schnauzer is going to come up with the money to pay the bill? Maybe she could start a doggy day-care!

  2. LOL

  3. Yep, you knew it couldn’t be that easy. Taking care of a dog is like taking care of a kid. Just another mouth to feed and more shots to get. And on top of that you still have to pick up their poop…

  4. I too was wondering how your poor schnauzer is going to pay… Doggy Day-Care is a brilliant idea! Unless the schnauzer is a trust fund baby?! Hmmm… Whatever the case may be, one this is for sure, you are a wonderful Grandpa!

  5. Congratulations on being a granddad again! 🙂

  6. $340.00 is pretty steep, but like you said….”we don’t want a wild dog running around the baby” !!

  7. Oh and CONGRATS on the 4th grandchild! That’s terrific news!

  8. Hahaha!! They never tell you about the “fine print” do they?

    Congrats on the new addition!
